Pirates' Joe Musgrove (shoulder) shut down for 5-7 days
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Joe Musgrove (shoulder) will be shut down for the next 5-7 days.
Musgrove has been dealing with lingering shoulder discomfort since February and reported the issue on Monday morning, so the Pirates sent him to the disabled list and will give him time to recover. The 25-year-old right-hander will exceed the minimum 10 days on the DL.
Prior to this announcement, numberFire's models projected Musgrove to record a 4.47 ERA and 1.29 WHIP while striking out 119 batters over 142 2/3 innings in 2018.
