Joe Musgrove (shoulder) placed on Pirates' disabled list
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Joe Musgrove was placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to March 30, with a shoulder injury.
What It Means:
Musgrove was scheduled to make his Pirates debut on Thursday after a solid showing in a minor league start on Saturday, but the 25-year-old right-hander has been bothered by shoulder discomfort since February and may have suffered some sort of setback. It's not clear how long Musgrove's stint on the DL will last.
Prior to this announcement, numberFire's models projected Musgrove to record a 4.47 ERA and 1.29 WHIP while striking out 119 batters over 142 2/3 innings in 2018.
