New York Yankees first baseman Greg Bird is dealing with inflammation in his right foot, an MRI and CT scan revealed.
Bird will be evaluated by a foot specialist in New York on Monday, so we should have an update on his status for Opening Day by the end of tomorrow. The 25-year-old first baseman bat .253 with 8 home runs and 25 RBI over the final 29 regular-season games in 2017.
As of now, numberFire's models project Bird to hit .248 with 24 home runs, 62 RBI, and 56 runs scored in 467 plate appearances this season.
