Red Sox sign Christian Vazquez to a three-year extension
The Boston Red Sox have signed catcher Christian Vazquez to a three-year, $13.55 million contract extension.
The Sox bought out the final two years of arbitration, and the deal will keep Vazquez with the Sox until at least 2021. Boston also has a $7 million club option for Vazquez is 2022.
Our models project Vazquez for a .252 batting average in 2018, with 4 home runs, 38 runs scored, 31 RBI, and 7 steals over 377 plate appearances.
