Athletics' Paul Blackburn (forearm) considered day-to-day
Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Paul Blackburn avoided structural damage in his forearm, an MRI revealed.
Blackburn will start throwing again once irritation in his strained forearm lets up a bit, which manager Bob Melvin expects to happen in about 10 days. It sounds like the 24-year-old right-hander will miss his first couple of starts in the Athletics' rotation.
numberFire's models project Blackburn to record a 4.43 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 13.9 strikeout percentage while going 4-4 in 95 2/3 innings this season.
