Tigers' Mike Fiers (back) expected to start season on the disabled list
Detroit Tigers pitcher Mike Fiers (back) is expected to start the season on the 10-day disabled list.
Fiers has had issues with his back for the past several days. With him out, the Tigers could choose to go with a four-man rotation for the first couple weeks of the season. Fiers' spot looks to be safe when he gets back, despite struggling this spring.
Fiers has been objectively terrible during spring training, going 1-3 with a 9.53 ERA and 1.59 WHIP. We project him to finish the regular season with a 9-9 record and 118 strikeouts.
