Marlins send Sandy Alcantara to Triple-A
Miami Marlins pitcher Sandy Alcantara has been optioned to Triple-A New Orleans.
What It Means:
Alcantara was the main acquisition in the deal that sent Marcell Ozuna to the St. Louis Cardinals. The 22-year-old right-hander should be able to work his way back into the Marlins' rotation before too long.
Alcantara recorded a 3.38 ERA and 1.19 WHIP across 16 innings of Grapefruit League play.
