Washington Nationals outfielder Victor Robles has been optioned to Triple-A Syracuse.
Robles slashed .188/.216/.313 over 51 plate appearances in Grapefruit League play this season, so the Nationals want to send him down to Syracuse for more seasoning. The 20-year-old top prospect should make his way back to the majors before the All-Star break this season.
Robles went 6-for-24 with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored over 13 games for the Nationals last season in a brief taste of the big leagues.
