Marlins could bat Lewis Brinson out of the leadoff spot

Miami Marlins manager Don Mattingly said Monday that he's considering outfielder Lewis Brinson for the leadoff spot.

What It Means:

Brinson was one of the players acquired in the Christian Yellich trade, and if he does end up batting leadoff, that will seriously increase Brinson's fantasy appeal this season. He has a little pop in his bat too, which could be coveted by Mattingly at the top of the order.

Our models project Brinson for a .229 batting average, with 13 home runs, 37 runs scored, 42 RBI, and 6 steals across 427 plate appearances this season.
