Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Jharel Cotton is getting a second opinion on his strained UCL and strained flexor muscle on Friday.
Cotton told the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser that he's optimistic about his elbow, which the right-hander claims is "okay" and at "full strength." That said, Cotton is likely going to open the year on the disabled list and season-ending surgery is still a possibility.
Cotton recorded a 5.58 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and 18.6 strikeout percentage across 129 innings last season while going 9-10 in 24 starts.
