Javier Baez (hamstring) set to return for Cubs on Saturday

Chicago Cubs infielder Javier Baez (hamstring) is expected to return to Cactus League action on Saturday, manager Joe Maddon said.

What It Means:

Baez has been held out for the past week due to a minor left hamstring injury but there isn't any concern about his status for Opening Day. The 25-year-old second baseman set career-highs in OPS (.796), home runs (23), RBI (75), and runs scored (75) last season.

numberFire projects Baez to hit .256 with 19 home runs, 60 RBIs, 59 runs scored, and 11 stolen bases in 497 plate appearances this season.
