Mariners' Nelson Cruz diagnosed with quad strain
According to the Seattle Times' Ryan Divish, Seattle Mariners outfielder/designed hitter Nelson Cruz has been diagnosed with a right quad strain.
Mariners manager Scott Servais confirmed that it's much more than quad soreness. Cruz suffered the strain running to first base during Tuesday's Cactus League game. He'll more than likely be sidelined for Opening Day, so expect the Mariners to deploy a combination of players at DH until he's back to health.
Our models project Cruz for 33 home runs, 104 RBI and a .265 average this season.
