New York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard has been named the team's Opening Day starter.
Jacob DeGrom has been slow to recover from a back injury, so the Mets will name Syndergaard as the Opening Day starter. DeGrom will start the second game of the season.
Our models project Syndergaard for a 3.21 ERA and 1.16 WHIP, to go with 198 strikeouts over 185.2 innings in 2018.
