Mariners' Felix Hernandez (forearm) hoping to work from mound this week
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Felix Hernandez (forearm) is hoping to throw two bullpen sessions this week.
Hernandez said his bruised right forearm is "getting better every day" as he continues to work his way back to full health. The 31-year-old right-hander likely won't be ready for Opening Day but he should be able to avoid a stint on the disabled list to start the year.
numberFire's models project Hernandez to record a 4.37 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and 19.4 strikeout percentage while going 11-9 across 162 2/3 innings.
