Giants' Evan Longoria day-to-day with ankle joint soreness
San Francisco Giants third baseman Evan Longoria said he's day-to-day with left ankle joint soreness.
This likely explains why Longoria was scratched from Friday's Cactus League game. "It's nothing to be nervous about...When I feel ready I'll play," the 32-year-old third baseman told Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle. Longoria should be fine for Opening Day.
numberFire's models project Longoria to hit .269 with 18 home runs, 79 RBIs, 70 runs scored, and 5 stolen bases in 631 plate appearances this season.
