Athletics set to sign Jonathan Lucroy to one-year contract
The Oakland Athletics have a one-year deal in place for Jonathan Lucroy, according to Jane Lee of MLB.com.
Lucroy is coming off a rough 2017 season, hitting .265/.345/.371 with a mere 6 home runs despite playing in hitter-friendly parks for the Rockies and Rangers. However, he did hit 24 long balls the year prior, so perhaps there's hope he can turn things around this season.
In 2017, Lucroy had uncharacteristic marks in both ground-ball rate (53.5%) and hard-hit rate (22.3%), which partially explains his decline in power numbers.
