Los Angeles Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons made an early exit from Thursday's Cactus League game against the Oakland Athletics due to a strained left shoulder.
Simmons is scheduled for an MRI but Angels manager Mike Scioscia says the issue is a non-concern. The 28-year-old shortstop recorded 164 hits, 69 RBI, 38 doubles, 77 runs scored, and 19 steals last season -- all of which represent new career-highs.
numberFire's models project Simmons to hit .272 with 8 home runs, 50 RBI, 67 runs scored, and 17 steals across 596 plate appearances this season.
