Amed Rosario (groin, knee) to play designated hitter for Mets on Friday
New York Mets shortstop Amed Rosario (groin, knee) is expected to play designated hitter against the Detroit Tigers in Friday's Grapefruit League matchup.
An MRI came back clean after Rosario tweaked his groin earlier this week, so he should be ready to hop back in at shortstop for Saturday's date with the New York Yankees. The promising 22-year-old hit .248 with 4 home runs and 10 RBI while adding 7 steals in 170 plate appearances (46 games) as a rookie last season.
numberFire's models project Rosario to bat .246 with 9 home runs, 46 RBI, 52 runs scored, and 12 steals in 506 plate appearances this season.
