Boston's Drew Pomeranz (elbow) to resume throwing program
Boston Red Sox pitcher Drew Pomeranz (elbow) is pain-free and will return to a throwing program, manager Alex Cora said on Tuesday.
Pomeranz made an early exit from Friday's contest due to tightness in his left forearm, but it doesn't sound like a major issue. It's possible that the 29-year-old southpaw is ready for his first turn in the Red Sox' rotation to start the year.
numberFire's models project Pomeranz to record a 3.80 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 24.2 strikeout percentage while going 12-8 across 170 2/3 innings this season.
