Matt Duffy (back) returns to action for Rays on Tuesday

Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Matt Duffy (back) is in the Grapefruit League lineup on Tuesday.

What It Means:

Duffy missed roughly a week due to the back issue. The 27-year-old hasn't played in a major league contest since September 2016 because of problems with his Achilles. He's expected to replace Evan Longoria as the Rays' primary third baseman this season.

Duffy has slashed .281/.324/.395 with 17 home runs, 113 RBI, 123 runs scored, and 20 steals across 1,042 plate appearances (274 games) for his career.
