Blue Jays' Steve Pearce diagnosed with mild calf strain

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Steve Pearce has been diagnosed with a mild left calf strain.

What It Means:

Pearce suffered the injury on Sunday and was forced to make an early departure. Per Blue Jays manager John Gibbons, the issue is mostly cramping caused by dehydration, but it'll still likely cost Pearce a few days. Teoscar Hernandez figures to fill the void in Toronto's outfield.

Pearce slashed .252/.319/.438 with 13 home runs, 37 RBI, and 38 runs scored in 348 plate appearances (92 games) last season.
