Jays don't expect Troy Tulowitzki (heel) to be ready for Opening Day

Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzki (heel) is not expected to be ready to play by Opening Day, per manager John Gibbons.

What It Means:

Tulo has been nursing a bone spur in his right heel but is progressing positively, said Gibbons. While they don't expect him to be ready for Opening Day, he could be good to go not long after. Yangervis Solarte or Aledmys Diaz will start the season as the Jays' starting shortstop.

Tulowitzki played just 66 games (260 plate appearances) in 2017, batting .249 with 7 home runs and 26 RBI.
