Giants' Mark Melancon (forearm) faces hitters for first time since September surgery
On Wednesday, San Francisco Giants pitcher Mark Melancon faced hitters for the first time since having forearm surgery in September.
Melancon reportedly threw 20 pitches and said he "felt fine." He is expected to be ready to start the season as San Francisco's closer, and will try to bounce back from a disappointing injury-shortened 2017 season.
Last year, Melancon converted 11-of-16 saves and posted a 4.50 ERA and 1.43 WHIP over just 30 innings.
