Salvador Perez homers, drives in two in Kansas City win
Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez homered and drove home a pair of runs on Friday, helping to lead the Royals to a come-from-behind 5-4 victory over the Astros to even the ALDS at one game apiece.
Perez got the Royals on the board in the second inning, lining a solo home run to left field off opposing starter Scott Kazmir. He also played a big role in a two-run rally in the sixth inning, drawing a bases-loaded walk to tie the game at 4-4. Perez singled in the contest, as well, finishing the afternoon 2-for-3.
Perez had an interesting season. He hit a career-best 21 long balls, but he also posted a career-low .300 wOBA. Since recording a .340 wOBA in 2012, he's seen his wOBA drop in each of the following seasons.
