Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman has shoulder inflammation, hopes to pitch in 4-5 days
Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marcus Stroman is dealing with right shoulder inflammation.
Stroman avoided any structural damage, and while the Blue Jays will shut him down for now, the right-hander hopes to resume pitching in 4-5 days. The issue sprung up last week after a live batting practice session, but Stroman revealed he's been dealing with discomfort since January. The 26-year-old's status for Opening Day is up in the air.
Stroman recorded a 3.09 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and 19.7 strikeout percentage across 201 innings last season while going 13-9 in 33 starts.
