Red Sox officially announce J.D. Martinez signing
The Boston Red Sox have officially signed outfielder J.D. Martinez to a five-year, $110 million contract.
What It Means:
The news broke on the signing last week, and the Sox have now made their big free agent acquisition official. Martinez will join the heart of the Boston lineup and he'll likely be the primary designated hitter, although he could also spend some time in left field against left-handing pitching.
