Ben Revere signs a minor league deal with Cincinnati

The Cincinnati Reds have signed free agent outfielder Ben Revere to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training.

What It Means:

The deal is for $1.5M if Revere makes the big league club. The Reds already have a crowded outfield, so it appears Revere was signed as depth and could signal Jesse Winkler and Phillip Ervin may start the season in the minors.

Revere stole 21 bases and scored 37 runs while slashing .275/.308/.344 in 308 plate appearances with the Los Angeles Angels last season.
