Francisco Liriano, Tigers reportedly agree to one-year deal
The Detroit Tigers have signed starting pitcher Francisco Liriano to a one-year, $4 million contract, reports Robert Murray of FanRag Sports.
Per Murray, Liriano can earn up to another $1 million in incentives and the 34-year-old southpaw will compete for a spot in the Tigers' rotation. His ERA has gone up in each of the past two seasons.
Liriano spun a 5.96 ERA, 1.64 WHIP, and 19.6 strikeout percentage across 97 innings last season while going 6-7 in 18 combined starts for the Toronto Blue Jays and Houston Astros.
