Rays sign Carlos Gomez to one-year deal
Per MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez, the Tampa Bay Rays have signed outfielder Carlos Gomez to a one-year deal.
The deal's pending a physical, but if he passes the 32-year-old will make $4 million in 2018. He had struggled to garner interest on the market, after dealing with injuries over the last couple years. He's going to be asked to play a corner outfield position in Tampa Bay.
In 105 games and 426 plate appearances, Gomez totaled 17 home runs and 51 RBI on a .350 wOBA.
