Astros prospect Forrest Whitley suspended for violating drug program

Houston Astros prospect and minor league pitcher Forrest Whitley has suspended 50 games, reports ESPN's Buster Olney.

What It Means:

It's unclear what Whitley tested positive for at this time. He will be suspended without pay, and this will only put off his 2018 major league debut. At 20, the right-hander is a top-10 prospect in all of baseball.

Whitley finished last year at Double-A Corpus Christi, where he went without a decision in 2 starts, 4 appearances and 14 2/3 innings. He struck out 15.95 batters per 9 with a 1.68 FIP.
