Matt Harvey misses mandatory Mets workout
New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey missed a mandatory team workout on Tuesday, according to Marc Carig of Newsday.
Manager Terry Collins said that Harvey called him to say he was stuck in traffic. Collins then told Harvey to turn around. This shouldn't affect Harvey's status for the National League Divisional Series.
Harvey wasn't quite able to reclaim the dominance he exhibited in 2013, but he still had a superb 2015. He finished the regular season with a 3.24 xFIP along with 8.94 strikeouts and 1.76 walks per nine innings. That said, Harvey will still have a difficult task when he starts Game 3, however, as the Dodgers finished the regular season fourth in wRC+ against right-handed pitching.
