Ryan Weber strikes out 10 over 7 innings, but Braves fall to Nationals

Atlanta Braves starter Ryan Weber struck out 10 batters over 7 innings, but the Braves lost to the Washington Nationals, 3-0.

What It Means:

Weber allowed one run on five hits without walking any. The one run came on a solo shot by Clint Robinson.

This was certainly a surprise for Weber, who had 9 total strikeouts through his first 21 1/3 innings pitched. His walks are low at 1.91 per nine innings with a 64.2 ground-ball rate, keeping his xFIP down at 3.43. The 25-year-old had a 2.09 FIP in 26 1/3 innings at Double-A and a 3.93 FIP in 73 1/3 innings at Triple-A prior to coming to the big leagues. Weber doesn't have re-draft value heading into 2016, but it was still a nice showing when he got his chance.
