New York Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka (hamstring) threw a successful bullpen session Friday and is expected to rejoin the Yankees' rotation early next week.
Tanaka admitted that his hamstring injury is "not completely gone," but he thinks it's good enough to pitch through. He'll pitch either on Monday or Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox.
Much like 2014, Tanaka has been fantastic -- when he's been healthy. Tanaka owns a shiny 3.26 FIP and 0.99 WHIP while striking out 136 hitters in 149 innings. In 23 starts, he's issued just 26 free passes.
