Kansas City's Omar Infante diagnosed with oblique strain
Kansas City Royals infielder Omar Infante has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 oblique strain.
Infante -- a part-time player for playoff-bound Kansas City -- suffered the injury on Friday, and an MRI taken Tuesday confirmed the Royals' original diagnosis. The veteran infielder will be out for the next two to three weeks, which means his postseason status is up in the air.
Simply put: the Royals won't miss Infante too much. His -2.92 nERD ranks 392nd among all hitters, and he owns a lowly .237 wOBA.
