Kansas City outfielder Alex Gordon is not in the Royals' lineup Sunday.
What It Means:
He was originally in there, but manager Ned Yost decided at the last second to give Gordon some rest. Paulo Orlando will handle left field.
Gordon has been the ideal leadoff hitter for the Royals this season, posting a .278/.384/.444 slash in 375 plate appearances. Our projections see him slowing down a bit over the rest of the season with a .257/.350/.400 slash.
