Braves' Manny Banuelos undergoes elbow surgery
Atlanta Braves pitcher Manny Banuelos had a bone spur removed from his left elbow and is done for the season.
Banuelos was scratched from a start last Friday because of lingering elbow issues. He is expected to be ready for the start of spring training.
Banuelos only threw 26 1/3 innings in his maiden voyage in the big leagues, finishing with a disappointing 5.14 xFIP. Banuelos struggled with his control as he walked 4.10 batters per nine innings while striking out 6.49. Banuelos will be looking to start fresh in 2016.
