Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's road game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
It's a routine day off for Davis, and Alvarez will start in his place at first base.
Davis is slashing .219/.312/.432 with a .316 wOBA, 26 home runs and 61 RBI through 125 games in 2017. numberFire's models project him to bat .235 while adding 1 home run and 3 RBI through 20 plate appearances over the remainder of the season.
