Mariners' Felix Hernandez won't pitch again this season
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Felix Hernandez won't pitch again this season.
Hernandez spun six innings of one-run ball on just a pair of hits on Monday while picking up his first win in six starts since July 15, and with the Mariners being eliminated from playoff contention, he decided it would be best to end the season on a good note. Hernandez will celebrate his 32nd birthday in April.
Across 86 2/3 innings this season, Hernandez spun a 4.36 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 21.2 strikeout percentage while going 6-5 in 16 starts.
