Miguel Cabrera (back) out of Tigers' lineup again on Tuesday

Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera (back) remains out of the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals.

What It Means:

This is a second consecutive absence for Cabrera, who might be done for the year after being diagnosed with two herniated discs in his back over the weekend. Efren Navarro is starting at first base again on Tuesday and batting seventh against Royals left-hander Jason Vargas.

In 130 games this season, Cabrera owns a .249/.329/.399 slash and .728 OPS with 16 home runs, 60 RBI, and 50 runs scored across 529 plate appearances.
