Yasiel Puig benched by Dodgers because of tardiness
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig was held out of Monday's lineup against the San Diego Padres after he showed up late for the team's pre-game workout.
Puig was also benched Sunday after manager Dave Roberts was frustrated with the outfielder being thrown out on a steal attempt that ended Saturday's contest. Roberts said Puig will be back in the Dodgers' lineup on Tuesday. He's slashing .259/.339/.474 this season with career-highs in home runs (26) and RBI (70) across 554 plate appearances (PA).
numberFire's models project Puig to turn in a .292 batting average with 1 home run, 3 RBI, 4 runs scored, and 1 steal in 27 remaining PA this year.
