Billy Burns

Oakland's Billy Burns (hamstring) out until at least Wednesday

Oakland Athletics outfielder Billy Burns (hamstring) won't return to the lineup until at least Wednesday.

What It Means:

Burns will go through full baseball activities Monday but it sounds like the A's will want to rest him again Tuesday. The center fielder hasn't played since last Wednesday due to tightness in his right hamstring. Craig Gentry is in center field Monday.

Burns, a 26-year-old rookie, has faired well in his first season in Oakland, although just 26 of his 138 hits have gone for extra bases. He's slashing .297/.336/.388 with 26 steals. We project him to post a .683 OPS with four more stolen bases the rest of the way, assuming the leg ailment doesn't force him to miss significantly more time.
