Reds excuse Eugenio Suarez for birth of his child
Cincinnati Reds third baseman/shortstop Eugenio Suarez has been excused from the team for the birth of his first child, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer's Eugenio Suarez.
At first, it appeared that Suarez was just the recipient of an off day, but this is the reason he's not in the lineup on Tuesday. Instead, Patrick Kivlehan will man the hot corner and bat seventh as Suarez joins his family at this time.
Over 598 plate appearances, Suarez has tallied 26 homers, 81 RBI and a .371 wOBA this season. His 1.84 nERD ranks 4th among all Reds' hitters.
