Masahiro Tanaka's start for Yankees likely pushed back to Friday
New York Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka is no longer scheduled to start on Wednesday against the Minnesota Twins.
Luis Severino will take his place. Tanaka will likely start on Friday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Yankees manager Joe Girardi said the rotation change allows Severino to make a third start down the stretch if necessary.
Tanaka owns a 4.73 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 24.6 strikeout percentage across 165 2/3 innings this season while going 12-11 in 28 starts.
