Pirates' Starling Marte (finger) might not return this season
Pittsburgh Pirates general manager Neal Huntington indicated Sunday that outfielder Starling Marte (finger) might not make it back this season.
Marte has yet to be officially ruled out for the season, but with two weeks left in the regular season, and the Pirates out of contention, they likely won't push Marte. He is also dealing with a shoulder injury, so it sounds like he will sit out the final two weeks.
Marte owns a .247/.308/.345 slash line with 6 home runs, 23 RBI, 39 runs scored, and 16 steals over 292 plate appearances this season.
