Baltimore Orioles designated hitter Pedro Alvarez is batting eighth on Monday against the Boston Red Sox.
It will be Alvarez's second start since getting called up from Triple-A at the start of the month. Mark Trumbo will take a seat on the bench. Right-hander Doug Fister is on the mound for the Red Sox.
