Rays' Trevor Plouffe in lineup Friday night
Tampa Bay Rays third/first baseman Trevor Plouffe is in the lineup for Friday night's home matchup against the Boston Red Sox.
Plouffe's returning to the lineup for the first time since Monday, and will do so at first -- not third -- base tonight. He's spelling lefty Logan Morrison as the Rays do battle with star lefty Chris Sale.
Against Sale, Plouffe is batting .288 with 18 strikeouts over 56 career plate appearances. In that familiar matchup, his Rays have the lowest implied total (3.17 runs) of the slate and will have a hard time against Sale's 35.9% strikeout rate.
