Cubs' Jake Arrieta (hamstring) scheduled for Saturday bullpen session
Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Jake Arrieta (hamstring) will throw another bullpen session on Saturday.
Arrieta completed a successful session on Thursday, and if he gets through Saturday without any issues, the Cubs will make a plan for the right-hander to get back in the rotation for the final stretch. He has been on the shelf since September 4 due to a hamstring issue. Prior to going down, Arrieta spun a 3.48 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 23.4 strikeout percentage across 160 1/3 innings while going 14-9 in 28 starts.
numberFire's models project Arrieta for a 3.40 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with 9 strikeouts in 10 2/3 innings remaining innings this season.
