New York Mets first baseman Dominic Smith will start on Thursday night against the Chicago Cubs.
Smith didn't start on Wednesday, but he still wound up launching a two-run bomb off the bench in his second plate appearance after entering the game in the sixth inning. He's 23-for-111 (.207) in the majors, but 6 of those hits have gone yard. The 22-year-old rookie will bat cleanup on Thursday night versus right-hander Jen-Ho Tseng and the Cubs. Matt Reynolds will be available off the Mets' bench.
As underdogs with a poor implied total (3.91 runs), the Mets' lineup may be limited on fantasy upside Thursday night. numberFire's models project Smith to score 9.6 FanDuel points at a cost of $2,800.
