Danny Duffy (elbow) expected to return Sunday for Royals
Kansas City Royals pitcher Danny Duffy (elbow) will likely be activated and start on Sunday against Cleveland.
If things go as planned, Duffy would be limited to around 65 pitches for Sunday's series finale in Cleveland. The 28-year-old left-hander has been out since August 22 due to a left elbow injury.
Prior to injury, Duffy posted a 3.78 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 21.4 strikeout percentage across 131 innings this season while going 8-8 (21 starts). numberFire's models project him to record a 4.31 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with 14 strikeouts over the remainder of the year.
