Washington Nationals second baseman Daniel Murphy is dealing with a stiff neck, manager Dusty Baker said.
Baker said Murphy played through it on Wednesday, but he wants to let the 32-year-old second baseman rest in tonight's matchup with left-hander Luiz Gohara and the Atlanta Braves. It's nothing to be concerned about. Wilmer Difo will start at second base and bat second for Washington.
numberFire's models project Murphy for a .333 batting average with 3 home runs, 12 RBI, and 10 runs scored in 72 plate appearances over the remainder of the season.
